HELP! NIC stops functioning.

Hi!
I am running ASL 2.1 and some strange things seems to be happening. At first i installed the firewall with three Intel 100 Pro nics, and everything seemed fine... for about 5 min. Then i lost contact with the internal interface (from int net). BUT from the firewall i am able to ping int, ext and dmz [:S].
After a couple of minutes contact int-net --> int-nic comes back, and everthing works perfect, for another couple of minutes. It goes on like this...

My first reaction was to swap the nics so i went through them one by one, and now im running with three D-links 530TX, but the problem remains [:S].

Has this happend to anyone else? Please help!

When I have contact int net-->int nic and does a ping -t to the internal ip of the firewall the connection is not droped.

When I stop pinging, the connection is lost within a couple of minutes.

To have the connection reestablished I have to ping the internal net from the firewall. When I do that everything works fine again, for a short period of time.

I had same problem with realtek NICs. I still have astaro pinging broadcast addresses every minute.

I don't know have they fixed this yet. I can't try it because i could loose all my network connections in 5 minutes.

did you connect your ASL NICs with a hub or switch (to one segment)?

I have had the same thing with another machine... Do you get any messages on the screen or in the log when the network cards fail? Are the chips on the card RealTech by any chance?

I have everything connected to a switch.

Used to run 2.0 on an old machine. The problems begun when I upgraded ASL(to 2.1) and the PC which it is running on.

I still run EXACTLY the same network config.

There are no messages what so ever. And I have tried both D-link cards and Intel, and I belive none of the cards uses Realtek chips.

The D-links worked perfecly whith my previous ASL 2.0 setup.
