Guys,
Great job so far. Been an avid user for almost a year now and try to frquent the boards often.
In the majority of the requests for help, I see most of them end up having to post portions of their configs to get the help they need.
My suggestion - In the System screen of the web interface include a button called "Diagnostic Dump" or something similar. This button will execute a script on the server that will collect all of the configuration information similar to what "ipsec --barf" does in FreeSwan..
How does this benefit anyone? Well, the output from the script will be uniform from one platform to the next, so when you get a problem report you (astaro) will not have to decipher a bunch of hand typed or cut and paste text.
It makes life easier on the end user as well. When they press the "Diagnostic Dump" button you can have ASL open up another window for the output stream just like the Live Log does in Packet Filter. This can be cut and pasted directly into the "Add New Topic" window on the forum. Another option would be to prompt for an email address to send the dump info to..
Just an idea to make life easier on all..
Greg
