    Yes you can.

    But NOT with Astaro - unless you want to hack the Linux to do so. Use www.smoothwall.org  instead if you want to use a modem!!!

    Can't people use a search function !

    Yes you can.

    Use some "internet server" like D-Link DP-602 configured as COM-to-Ethernet converter, program this for permanently modem up and switch off firewall functions.

    I use it for reserve channel for my company with main DSL inet over ASL.

    thankyou very much for your post,finally I can go in the net firewalling with dial-up connection.
    Please could you post the step-by-step conf of your DP-602 because I encountered a lot of problems with my ISP .

    The other option is to hack ASL for dialup, and it works well... But you loose everyuthing in case of a system loss... Look at the hackers area for this...

    I have gone to a Netcomm SM-4300 combined dialup/cable router and it works OK... Runs linux... Can dial into it... etc... Support is non-existant though
