Help with installation

I just learned about this product a few days ago and finally got around to installing it. Unfortunately i ran into a lot of problems. First, the installation doesn't want to recognize my D-Link DFE-530TX+ card; i have found several posts on this topic but none of them give a specific solution (steps to take to make ASL recognize the card). Second, when the installation ends it tells me to restart the system and connect via web browser but when i hook up the ASl system and my regular windows system to a single hub, i can't even ping the ASL system [:S]e.

Just a note, I have very little linux experience so could you make your descriptions very detailed [:)]

Actually i solved many of my problems, but I still can't figure out how to make my D-link card work. If some one could answer me that one question, I would be very grateful.
