Error: SelfMonitoring: restarting nacctd

I get several times every day this error message:
Oggetto: SelfMonitoring: restarting nacctd(471 times)


/var/log/account/net-acct not newer then /var/log/account/timestamp - restarting nacctd

Astaro Security Linux  1.920

what does it mean?

    I'm getting the same error. I started getting them after I reset my timezone and clock.
    If all else fails. I'll save my configuration and reinstall. But first I'll set my clock to GMT and set my timezone acordingly. I'll post results.

    Reloaded 3.020
    No nacctd restart errors. Mine looked like it had to do with a time stamp problem in the logs.
    We'll see.

    did you also change the date/time settings?
    I think there is a problem with accounting data from the future...

    Same problem occurs after reloading. Seems as though it's a 3.020 issue to be resolved.

    ASL 3.020 Beta gives me the "usual" notification error:

    SelfMonitoring: restarting nacctd(849 times)

    /var/log/account/net-acct not newer then /var/log/account/timestamp - restarting nacctd


    Jep - this one is tricky one. It gives me a headache. But it is good to know that I'm not the only one who is having the same "nacctd" problem.

    I seem to have the same thing happening to my beta 3.020 astaro

    /var/log/account/net-acct not newer then /var/log/account/timestamp - restarting nacctd

    -rw-rw-rw- 1 root  root   0 Feb 12 18:00 net-acct
    -rw-rw-rw- 1 root  root   0 Feb 12 21:16 timestamp

    Obviously the time stamp is not newer than timestamp

    How do I fix this without re installing the OS. for what reason does this happen.

    For me I'm sure this problem just came for no reason at all. allthough it could be time related but i have made sure the time is correct.

    The reason i dont want to re-install is because i have installed the DHCPCD client and set up a script to change my MAC addy of the external NIC to match one i previously used as my ISP uses the MAC to hand out my IP addy. Any way Since it is a hastle to copy files to the firewall i dont want to re-install

    Any suggestions.

    I can partially fix the problem by deleting and re making the net-acct file and the timestamp is newer than the timestamp file is

    after killing nacctd it comas back and stays on the same PID for a while

    then i get 1 email saying it restarted 1 times
    then 2 times
    then 3times
    then 6 times
    then 13 times
    etc...
    all the way back to 400 times

    i dont see why these files come out of time
