ASL is a more professional firewall than most other products I've tested. While ClarkConnect and others assumes that the user knows almost nothing, leaving very little work up to the end user - ASL will not work out of the box without doing a few things correctly.
I do realize that ASLs main focus are the more experienced users and companies, but as the popularity increases, you'll gain more and more of the end users that want to run ASL because it's good, but they don't understand the setup procedure very well.
So, what if some sort of firewall template could be built into ASL?
Perhaps combined with a little wizard to get the most simple configuration up and running.
This way, you could distribute a few simple, default profiles that with minimal changes would work for the average Joe on a DSL or whatever.
The wizard concept could of course be taken to great lengths, and I'm sure that such a function would be popular for admins that aren't dedicated to handling firewalls all day.
So, what do you think?
