USB Keyboards

I appreciate the feature set for 2.0 is frozen, however if there is any way you could be persuaded to compile USB support (specifically USB keyboards) into the kernel, it would be a great help!

Is there any chance?

    hi jon,

    not for the stock 2.0 (too much risk), but we can compile an "unofficial" kernel with even more stuff enabled and put it on docs.astaro.org. I'll discuss this with Dennis (our kernel dude).

    Thanks, that would be appreciated.

    I was going to try copying the modules across from one of my stock linux boxes, but I'd be happier with one built by you guys, even if it was "unofficial"  [:)]

    Hi Tom, as mentioned in this post over more than a year ago, there are some sort of support, official or not, for USB keyboard.  What is the status for it as of v3.207?  Any chance to have it posted on docs.astaro.org again?
    As in previous post, I am running into this trouble of a frozen installation and what's specific about my hardware is USB only keyboard.  Would that be the cause for all these troubles?  [:S]

    Some current PC BIOSes (e.g. Dell) have "USB keyboard legacy support" or something similar. Enable this and the USB keyboard is handled by the (hardware) controller as if it were a PC/2 keyboard.
