how to switch eth1 to Full-Duplex mode ?

Hi all;
My astaro 's eth1 is operating in fulf-duplex mode. I found it when I replace new switch (dual speed) with hub. The swith is showing the port which is connected to eth1 
is half-duplex. I want to make eth1 to operate in full-duplex mode. I have ne2k-pci eths (as in module.conf).
And I also found my eth1 has collisions from the out put of ifconfig command.

    did i understand right:
    first you had a switch, and
    now you have only a hub ??

    if so, then it is as far as i know a hardware thing:
    you are not able to do full-duplex with a hub, you need a switch to do this.

    normally the cards detect that on their own.

    No, I have a switch now. which support 10/100 full/half-duplex.

    10 / 100 NICs can often be configured by a DOS setup-utility which is on the driver-disks. I guess you don´t have a disk for a NE2k compatible NIC, have you ? If not, you can plug them into a Win 9x machine and set the parameters in the device manager.
    You can force them to use a dedicated speed, e.g 10 Mbs full-duplex, 100 Mbs half-duplex and so on. The factory default is mostly "autosense", while changing the port-speed by replacing the network component for some cards requires a cold boot to "autosense" full/half duplex, while the speed is recognized in runtime.

    P.S.: One last tip - as Tom (astaro admin) wrote eralier:
    "I can't give you a specific recommendation, but noone was ever fired for choosing 3com cards ..."
