DHCP Support?

but in belgium some small offices of our use ADSL with PPOE on it to connect with VPN to our mean office, so i need it, also we hope we can test the dhcp setup also in astaro, for personal use, clients and people work at home 
Leased lines are so not any to pay  

currently my cable provider (AT&T-Narrowband) is requiring all users to use dhcp. After @home went belly up at&t switched all users over to another network and i lost my static address. They now require dhcp and the lease on addresses are only good for 7 days. You guys said the current ver. does not support this correct? I guess i will have to use another firewall unless there is an add on package.

Yes there is DHCP support its in the DOCs section under hacks.

I have PPPoE with a DHCP assigned IP.  I for the life of me can't get my ASL to work with it.  But I have it impletemented in a few other locations testing it now (thanks to there true IPs).  I am not giving up on ASL that easy.  I just HOPE they release ASL 3 (or a new beta) by Christmas.. be a good present for me =)

I am on AT&T as well and suffered the same problem you are..

My connection has been back up for a week and a half using a static IP from AT&T with no problems.

I set up a windoze box with dhcp, got an IP then configured it into my astaro box..  So fa, so good..  No problems..

i finnaly came that far to actually try and install astaro with that homemade dhcp pack,(isp Bredbandsbolaget), i works lite a charm so far, i used smoothwall before that is also a really nice produkt but this one is much more advanced, keep up the good work.

I also have AT&T, and have had the DHCP hack in place over 3 months without any problems. AT&T binds to the MAC, and the DHCP client has only had to change IP's twice, both times, it worked. I agree though that possibly there should be 2 products, or setup options, home and business. Home should have more services that normally in a business environment would be served by an app server, the business option without (or as an option).

I am having a prob with the scrip (the problem is most likely me but hopefully someone will help me with it.) I've got the files copied to my astaro box and changed the rights to rwx but when i run the install_utils.sh (command im using is sh install_utils.sh) it just gives me a command not found and creates some directories. Please let me know what it is that I am doing wrong.

Use vi and take a look at any files you editied with a DOS/Windoz based editor. Sounds like you will find ^M's at the end of each line.....

So, being new to this product, I have reviewed the docs and the message boards.  I need to know simply how to get the extra hack packages on to my ASL machine?  There is no ftp or lynx, so please clue me in.  I am in need of the dhcp client package.  I picked up the tar ball from this site but hoe do I get it to the ASL machine??
