Urgent: Minicom on ASL (darryl?)

HI there

I know putting Urgent in the subject on a post isn't going to get me quicker advice but I thought it might reflect something  [:)]

I'm trying to get minicom on ASL but failing.
Does anyone have a statically compiled version (is even possible) that i could have.
I have no way of compiling anything here at  the moment.
I have put minicom from a redhat 7.1 distro installed but i get

minicom: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.1.3' not found (required by minicom)

 file /lib/libc.so.6

/lib/libc.so.6: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386, version 1, stripped

I really need minicom up there big time, can anyone help me here?

I remember Darryl Smith saying he got it working so I hope he reads this and clues me up on how he did it
