I would very much like to recommend Astaro to my clients but it is not possible without some added capabilities.  Namely, SCSI/HW RAID support and user defineable partition sizes.  When can I expect these features to be implemented?

    SCSI RAID should work for some controler (adaptec), for user defineable partitions are no plans. Why do you (your clients) need this?

    Ok.Adaptec scsi raid controllers support sounds promising.

    The clients don't really NEED user definable partitions.  It would be nice to have some control over them.  Give the RAID support you have, can a Compaq or Dell RAID driver be scp'd over to enable additional models?

    Hello,

    I think I have to correct Markus (I'm actually the SCSI maintainer). In 2.0 Beta we support a lot of SCSI controllers (the most recent Adaptec und LSI Logic ones), but practically no HW RAID. For example Adaptec didn't released yet the RAID drivers for 2.4 kernel, so we have to wait for them.

    We tested some SCSI controlers with 2.0, but there are (too) many ones to test them all. Please refer the kernel SCSI config description we put on http://docs.astaro.org  (SCSI-*.txt) and post your suggestions and test results in the "Hardware" forum, we REALLY need your feedback to make our SCSI support better  [:)]

    HI pplz!

    what do you think about incliding OPSEC support to ASL?  so  one could use it with a lot of commercial IDS software, etc.?
