honeypot in a DMZ

I'm curious if I could safely use the DMZ created in 1.8 to set up a honeypot for learning?

    I dont see why you couldnt, but do keep in mind, that anything vulnerable can potentially compromise the entire network segment even if you are running in a switched environment. it IS possible to sniff over a switch, as many switches can be tricked into failing to an open state, a common method of doing this is to flood the target switch with arp packets...
