What's my box doing?

Hi all,

I installed ASL 1790 two days ago and i must say it was a pleasure doing so [:)]

Everything seems to be running nice, but I noticed the box doing an awfull lot of harddisk jobs. Not just when it's in operation, but also when absolutely nothing should be happening (LAN computer switched off).

I have none of the proxy options active right now, autoupdate is off, no special logging or anything. I basically just use masquerading and a few filtering rules. The box is a P2/233 with 32 Mb ram and a 2.5 Gb disk.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Hi PaulB,

there is nothing wrong. Some daemons are writing periodically to the harddisk (e.g. Selfmonitor, Accounting).
