IP-forwarding on/off during reboot?

Hi!
Question: does ASL disable the kernel-based IP-forwarding automagically during a reboot? If not, the network lies bare and available to anyone who might like to try being naughty.

    I think I understand your question. You think that the firewall blocks data and thus when it is rebooting or switched off, data can flow anywhere and everywhere freely.

    But this isn't the case. The firewall doesn't just block data. It is actually the only way of sending data. When it's switched off, you are left with no connectivity at all. Firewall off = all services stopped. Firewall on = very select and securely configured services started.
