Best way to change administrative IP address of UTM and APs

Hi Guys,

We have APs controlled by a SG230 UTM. We have to change the both, the UTM and the AP's IP addresses to a different subnet. Both the old and new subnets are routeable. How would you advise to change the administrative IP address of the devices to minimize the outage window?.

Thank you,

/Christian

  • depends of your networkdesign...

possible you create a second subnet with new address-range at the same L2 network, change DHCP to deliver the new addresses only, reconfigure some devices to new addresses and remove the old network when empty...

AP's should reconnect with new IP after reboot. (allow new IP-Interface within AP-settings)
