I'd like to replace my CPU to a higher clockspeed CPU anything above 3.4GHz for enabling IPS, right now I have turned it off, as I have a 1gbps internet connection, and snort is not able to handle the speeds. I was told on another thread that getting a higher clockspeed cpu will help.
So will i have to re-install sophos if i am replacing just the CPU? I will be using the same motherboard, memory and SSD as is in the current setup. Will only replace the cpu.
What will i have to re-install?
P.S.: I have sophos installed on a dedicated bare metal server.
