Route a Network Down a Specific WAN Interface

Hello,

We will have a company temporarily using our building who require their own network on our infrastructure. I have setup their network on a VLAN (172.16.1.1) with firewall rules denying access to our resources and that is all working fine. Now I am trying to make one this network route only over a specific WAN interface as I do not want their traffic going over our main WANs. I have created the following static route but nothing seems to happen

Type: Interface Route

172.16.1.1 ---> Interface (WAN 3)

Is this the correct thing to do? or am i missing something? When I check the external IP of a device connected to this network it is showing as one of our other WANs

  • Try multipath route by interface

    For me it works better

  • Agreed with oldeda - use a Multipath rule to bind the traffic to WAN3.  Uplink Balancing with Multipath rules was added about five years ago.  It's a powerful way to solve problems like this and once you learn to use Multipathing, you will be glad that you did.

    Cheers - Bob
