[8.980][MYTH] static_smtp defer (-53): retry time not reached for any host

Hi All

I've changed to topology of my network and I can't get access to emails .The error message I am getting is :R=static_route_hostlist T=static_smtp defer (-53): retry time not reached for any host

My UTM is connected to a router -configuration of the in interface attached

UTM (192.168.1.200/24 with gateway 192.168.1.254)-------Router(GW 192.168.1.254).

Everything else (i.e browsing the net ) works fine. However, not sure Why I can't receive/send emails.

I have flushed the DNS as suggested in previous posts. I can see my domain been blacklisted when searching against MX Lookup Tool - Check your DNS MX Records online - MxToolbox (BACKSCATTERER) but It is working fine if I connect directly to the router and not via UTM so not sure if that's the problem

I have also added a static route for all internal network to use the router as a gateway.

You are double natting but I don't understand why do you have a static route for internal clients. If astaro is your gateway for internal network, the second gateway doens't make any sense for internal clients.

For smtp problems, you are obviously having connectivity issues. Did you try a simple telnet session like
gatekeeper:/var/log # telnet mx.astaro.com 25
Trying 213.144.15.13...
Connected to mx.astaro.com.
Escape character is '^]'.
220 mx.astaro.com ESMTP ready.
to see if you can actually connect at all.
Why are you using another router if you don't mind me asking. If its a soho router, just add astaro's external interface to dmz or something alike that forwards all incoming traffic to astaro. Router behind a router is nothing but headache unless you open all ports for the second router which defeats the purpose of having two routers[:S]

Edit: I am assuming this has to do with the pppoe bug that you had reported and you are using a soho router for pppoe connectivity. In which case putting astaro in dmz would work fine.
