[8.965][FEATURE] Date problem

Hi all, 

I'm having a strange problem with my Astaro v8.965. 
I configured Astaro to use 2 of my own ntp servers. For some strange reason, Astaro forgets to update himself. 

When I set the time correct, Astaro's time is correct for about 3 days. After that the difference is more then 3 minutes. (This makes my IPv6 tunnels fail). 

In both of the screenshots you can find more information on my configuration. As you see I configured both of those servers, I did this configuration 2 day's ago. I made sure that the time was in sync. 

However today I see that I'm having a difference of at least 1 minute. 

If I enter the terminal mode of Astaro, kill the ntp daemon and initiate the command manually (ntpdate x.x.x.x) I see that Astaro updates himself correctly.

    Hi, check the packetfilter log for NTP packets, and, iirc the system log has the ntpd info.

    This all seems very normal to me.

    ***xx@kwik-e-mart:~$ date

    Dr-nick and Kwik-e-mart, both Debian servers, use the same NTP server as snake-jailbird. However, snake his time is off by 2 min. I synced the time yesterday as I posted this problem. So it's off by 2 min in less then a day. 

    Requesting the ps list on the server gives me the following output

    snake-jailbird:/var/log # ps aux | egrep ntp

    I modified the IP address, but I can confirm that this is the correct IP.

    That file seems correct aswell. (I added the complete configuration file)

    Perhaps something that I should mention. This server was added as master into an Active / Passive setup. However, due instability I recently disabled this feature. (I'm still researching if this is an Astaro or a KVM problem)

    VM's can mess with linux's sense of time; I know VMWare has a setting that helps; perhaps there is something for KVM as well?

    Regardless whether KVM messes up my time or not, fact is that the NTP daemon doesn't correct it. If I run it manually it works, if it runs as a daemon it seems to forget to update. 

    I'm reading the logs but I can't find the problem, nor do I see the NTP daemon update. Is there a way to set higher debug settings? Perhaps I should enter the public NTP pool again and see how that goes. 

    Today my IPv6 tunnel broke again due a time difference of 300 seconds.

    Maybe the KVM documentation can help us here.

    Ubuntu recommends to turn off NTP on guests, btw.

    I think i'll close this as "myth"...

    EDIT: rethink this, i'll better turn it into a feature request. Since this has to be handled correctly for every virtualization platform, we probably have to write separate code for each environment...
