Beta Release 8.965: Release and Download Information

Hi.

I'm shifting the schedule around a bit. So this week an early release called 8.965 and then the next release in two weeks (called 8.970, a.k.a. RC1).

Nothing much to talk about, fixes all around.

Please note that the Up2date package will also be distributed over the Up2Date server, so your appliance should usually download the package by itself.

    I would rather the fit and finish get to v4 levels instead of the near constant betas we have been having to endure.  I skipped v6-7 because they weren't worth messing with.  v9 is not getting better right now..it's getting worse.  Core functionality are still not stable and yet we add more features on top of a unstable codebase.  Now with v9 the big push is to sophos-ize the product AND we get a security configuration where the endpoints have better protection than the gateway device due to the use of an admittedly "inferior" version of sopho's own product.  it's time for the feature creep to stop dead...and get things fixed to where the product is stable first and foremost..then secure.  You can't have a secure product if it's unstable...because if it is unstable it's not going to be used..
