[8.960][CLOSED] update progress bar

Same here, mine was in the middle of the installation and didn't update the progress bar anymore because it went into reboot to complete the installation.

That's a long-standing issue which is not trivial to fix, it's not a new problem in v9

ok, but it looks like it's worse than before, because until now I never noticed it that clearly.

Mario I will have to agree with Franc. I haven't had (or at least notice ) this with previous versions.Even previous betas (8.900/8/910) I didn't notice this as an issue

I think I've said this at least twice in each beta, so let's repeat it again:

we test this extensively for official releases, but we do not really put that much effort in polishing this purely cosmetic thing for each little step during the beta. It doesn't make any sense to spend hours of valuable QA time on a progress bar, if there are more serious things to check that really affect the functionality. It's a matter of priority: serious things go first.
