[8.940][MYTH] POP3 proxy (enable/disable) download emails

Hi All

I had pop3 proxy configured and working for some time. Then I've decided to turn it off. Today I've decided to turn it on again and I've noticed that my outlook client download all emails (old ones) 

According to the POP3 stored messages (mail manager) I had 1500 stored messages (before enabling the functionality). Now I have 300 which I presume are the stored emails for the other clients

I am not sure if this is a bug but why are my emails downloaded to the client once I re enable the pop3 proxy? The emails had been successfully downloaded few weeks ago (just before I've decided to turn the functionality off)

Also how can I delete the stored messages?

    Hi Wingman,
    coffee first thing sounds good, gets the brain up to speed.

    It is not a UTM function. On my MAC I can configure how long I want mail kept on the pop3 accounts, but not the exchange accounts (imap etc) I have to use webmail to set message life.

    I checked the ISP web mail settings for my pop3 accounts and there isn't a life setting.

    Your question is quite valid from my point of view, I ended up disabling prefetch on my portable unit, because every time I logged into it I would end up with a stack of already delivered and read e-mails. Now I only get them when I log onto the home network.
    So what happens to roadwarriors when they return to the office?
