8.930 has come up with another issue...highly increased ram usage. Even with vm.swappiness set to zero and with 3 gigs of ram installed i am now getting a quarter of a gig in swap. I just noticed this this morning looking at my system. I am using the ram based cff database and have IPS set for 4 threads. IDs is currently using 25% of all physical ram by itself. If i reduce my IPS threads my performance drops even further than noted in my previous thread.
Oh, "swap usage" alone isn't the kind of problem i asked for. What i meant was if you see something break, like not being able to surf or that kind of thing. As I wrote in the other thread, our performance lab is currently testing the V9 and they have an eye on the IPS performance as well. Once we see the relative performance compared to V8 we will have something to reason about. Stay tuned ;-)
