[8.930][BUG] html5 vpn missing Thai fonts

At this time it does not seem to be possible to choose the character encoding of a web site through the HTM5 Portal.

See attached images for problems with a non english language.

Any suggestions?

    Sorry, i don't get your point. Both images (besides the fact that the forum has downscaled the pictures to 1024 pixels width) show something that i cannot read. Can you please explain what's wrong there?

    The first image is through the portal, and the display does not show Thai language data correctly.  The second image displays correctly through as direct connection.  Initially I thought that it was an encoding problem, however now I am told that it is because Astaro does not load fonts capable of correct Thai display (eg in Windows it would be Tahoma font).  The answer to the problem is for Astaro to make sure that its browser engine has access to the full (multi-language) UTF-8 font set.

    Whilst I see problems with Thai language, presumably this will be more widespread with other less common languages.

    Hi BangkokBob,

    can you actually confirm that the language is malformed/unreadable?
    To some extend there seems to be Thai support, to me it just looks like 
    some characters are being stretched.
