[8.920][ANSWERED] effect of IPS on throughput?

That seems a bit much. We have tested a ASG 320 v4 on 7.511 without IPS at 1GBit/sec, with IPS 250MBit/sec.

What do you have in the IPS Local Networks setting?

I would expect IPS to slow me down but not by this much - from 100Mbps to <>

what else do you have the machine doing(after you check your configuration as per barry's post).  How many users?

I have 5 users , no Web filtering or SMTP proxy.

Have you disabled all the rules for functions that are not on your internal network?

Hi Moto,

even without knowing your concrete IPS setup, I can tell you that it's possible to only have 1/10 of the whole bandwidth at your disposal. As our past tests with V8.3 have shown there may be a decrease by almost 90% in bandwidth. And please keep in mind that it's all dependend on the kind, frequency and complexity of traffic you are checking and of course the hardware you have in use.
