Hi Wingman,

did you create an internal user (Email Protection > Encryption > Internal Users) for your mail address? If not the encrypted messages addressed to you will not be touched, and have been decrypted by something else.

I do have an internal user created and selected only the option openpgp. I also have the relevant pgp key for the users and I am able to send and receive encrypter/signed emails with no issues



 I have already provided access to my UTM to Ingo for another issue so you are more than welcome to have a look on my config or I can send you the info you need

with the help of Ingo I just had a look on your smtp.log. Apparently all your mail bypass the SMTP proxy, which also explains why it is not processed by the Email Encryption.

Can you please check your mail setup?

Unbelievable....I was using SSL Imap instead of pop. 

I will reconfigure and double check if the issue is still there

the POP3 proxy doesn't support email encryption. You need to configure the SMTP proxy properly before you can make use of the Email Encryption feature.

The outlook clients are using UTM as smtp server and I can see that the relevant SMTP footer is attached. I will have another go to check the rest of the settings as well

I don't have internal mail server.

The SMTP mail server is set to use my UTM 

The username ( number 1 in the pic "outlook settings") is set as Authenticated relay (pic SMTP settings)
As Upstream host list I have defined the incoming mail server 
As as smarthost I have the same server defined as "Upstream host" ( number 1 in the pic)
Also the username/password credentials are the same as the per pic "outlook settings"

However, the port defined on the Advanced section (Smarthost settings) is 25 where as  I use 465 SSL as this is a imap connection

yet your smtp.log proves that your SMTP proxy is essentially unused.

Do you have maybe any DNAT rules that somehow match on SMTP traffic too?

strange. I can see the footer on the emails which prove AFAIK that the email goes via the SMTP.log

I only have 6 DNAt entries none of which are related to SMTP traffic

anything else I can check?
