I've set up HTTP via clientless vpn and I am able to view the inital page of my QNAP. However, I am not able to click/select any of the items(i.e change language or click on the administrator box so I can login)
They probably use jQuery from a CDN instead of bringing a copy of their own. Check the chrome webconsole for jquery or other javascript files and add those CDN hosts to the list of allowed hosts (you need 8.910 to do this).
not sure what changed in the backend but with 8.920 I am able to login to my QNAP with no issues. There was a compatibility window check that came up really fast but everything works [:)]
