[8.900][ANSWERED] Notification setting for blocked outgoing mail missing

Angelo anounced a new minor feature in the "Other Changes and Enhancements" section:

Administrators can now select to receive notifications when Mail Protection has blocked an outgoing message

I want to play around with this setting but I can't find it in the webadmin. Who can give me a hint? [:$]

    Hi Marco,

    I guess Angelo's announcement was misworded a bit. This is not a feature that is configureable at all, but is enabled without the facility to disable it. So, the new thing is that you will now get a notification as soon as an outgoing mail is quarantined.

    If you want to test that feature, please note that a notification is sent back only if all of the following conditions are met:
    - message sender is from a local domain
    - message recipient is to a forreign domain
    - message is quarantined

    It might be a good idea to make this something that can be switched off (either via webadmin or cc) ... if there's an issue with the spam filter, it might be a good idea to be able to switch it off to prevent a flood of notification messages, etc.

    so in case of a SPAM issue in your network you would like to disable that feature? I would instead suggest to fix the SPAM issue itself. Or alternatively you can also disable scanning of outgoing mail entirely. Or create a SPAM or AV exception for the known SPAM sender in your network. In short, there are already plenty of alternatives to properly cope with such an event. Which one is the right one for you depends on your actual setup and the particular event.

    But if it turns out that there really is a need to disable this feature, we will of course consider to add it.
