The Design is ok, but the Packetfilterrule is bullshit !

The Design should be more diverse in their colors and >borders
-> i removed the entries which are fine but only listed those i "fixed"

I correct my answer above.

The Packetfilterrule are bullshit if you have one Source to one Destination with one Service !
If you have more than one Source, Destination or Service defined, it is perfectly readable, but the older one was much better.
I hope now this will be designed also for single Source,Destination,Service...

Changes are welcome if it is for good. Designers who did the best all the way long since the start of Astaro(using since version 4) was an evolution of rock solid interface which laid global standards, Astaro's interface and ease of manageability was envy for all the competitors. Astaro's interface design acknowledged of what they used to offer, best of breed solution.

I think this is all changing now.

I wonder where sophos will land by leaving behind this evolution. It completely shows how sophos has failed to identify  Astaro.

Its not about polishing, and making changes to look acceptable and get used to it, against what was best. As I said we have all welcomed the different designs which were good all the way till version 8. All of the changes were surely for good.

Do you think polishing this design will make it best? 

From packet filters, to ICONS(folder, PLUS sign, Service icons and Interface card icons) are all worse.

We welcome sophos changes but I hope through this thread they can read what everyone here is saying, and wish they acknowledge.

Long story short, We wish good luck to SOPHOS for future, and my heartiest congratulations for their very first UTM. If SOPHOS UTM 9 will succeed it will be because of technology, and if it fails the thread tells it all.

Astaro's interface design acknowledged of what they used to offer, best of breed solution.

Let's not read too much into this [[:)]]  It's a change in colors of the user interface, and nothing more. 

As manager inside Astaro, and now Sophos, it is clear to see that the influence of Astaro on Sophos is greater than the influence of Sophos on Astaro. Before the acquisition, the public facing image of Astaro - the website right through to the GUI in the products, was influenced heavily by the marketing team. This is still true in Sophos, and many of those running in marketing within Sophos are the same people that were running marketing within Astaro. The developers are still the same people, the product managers are still the same people, the web developers are still the same, and the VPs in charge of them are still the same people. The only difference, is the color palate our teams have to work with [[:)]]

I on the other hand can say this:
With the new GUI and its lack on contrast, I will have a migraine within 15-30 mins of using the interface and that will put me in bed for a couple of days.
After just reading this thread, I have the eye twitching and I'm heading off for lots of dugs and a long break

Yes, the new gui is not that good in eyes. Please redesign... maybe for the white background.

Now I can test the UTM9 without sunglasses [;)]
