[8.935][CLOSED] Client updates but is never shown online

Hi All

It seems that the sophos endpoint is not "seen" via the outlook client and it seems that the system has not antivirus (attached)

    Hi,
    I have had endpoint running for awhile, but haven't had any devices under management.
    Scenario.
    Mac Book Pro running parallels with XP SP3 installed. Anti virus is AVG free. The Mac Book Pro has 8gb ram, quad core i7 with 1 core to the XP window with 3.5gb.
    I have started the installation of the endpoint software. The UTM recognised the laptop (XP) as being seen sometime ago. The endpoint is still updating itself nearly an hour later. The AVG stopped the installation a number of times and had to have an exception approved.
    So far so good.
    The UTM shows the laptop and its name in the endpoint management windows, it shows status as okay, but the online light is still greyed out.

    Questions
    1/. how long does it take to update the laptop?
    2/. does it uninstall the AVG free anti-virus software?
    3/. when does the tamper key?

    Are you still experiencing issues with that machine? 

    The reason the online icon is grayed out is because the endpoint isn't sending "pings" to the Broker/Sophos LiveConnect. 

    Let me know if this is still an issue, so we can take a closer look at it.

    Hi,
    I have been reading the other threads in the endpoint forum and applied some of those answers.
    The PC is shown as online, but status in now showing out of date. The PC endpoint doesn't have any locations in either the primary or secondary tabs. The tabs are grayed out so I can't manually configure them.

    I do remember seeing a thread on this and I can't remember wherther the answer was to re-install the enpoint software over the existing installation.I know the recommendation was not to uninstall endpoint.

    I just tried re-installing the software and it failed.
