[8.920][ANSWERED] Endpoint Update failed.

First off, here's the response I have so far:
"I have to admit I’m having some trouble with this. I’ve tried various machines and I can’t get the same failure. I’ve tried downloading the file through IE, and that’s fine as well. That indicates that this isn’t a Warehouse problem. However, there seem to have been multiple (at least 2) reports of downloads “sticking” on exactly the same file, which seems like something deterministic is going on. I just can’t find what that is yet.

The log file shows that AutoUpdate is downloading from the Warehouse. Multiple files are downloaded, including some files bigger than the “problem” file, so it isn’t a slow link/timeout issue. Then this file is requested:

http://d3.sophosupd.com/update/4844a15d0beb527ba00dc46f1071155cx000.dat


So please answer the questions raised in the first quote.
And also send me by PM your UTM ID, so I can send you the warehouse credentials, so we can try that file manually in IE.
After 3 mins 10 seconds waiting on this file, an error is logged. The error is thrown from a file copy stage in AutoUpdate when the http download appears to have completed. But the error is thrown when the code attempts to copy the file, but cannot find its end-of-file marker. So it looks like the http request for the file has completed, but the file hasn’t actually been downloaded properly.

I’m wondering if there is a timeout somewhere that terminates the http request, and that triggers the error message. But I’ve no idea what might be causing the download to stall on this one file – it’s not the biggest file that is downloaded, and it’s not the only DLL.

If possible, I’d like more environmental info on the affected machines – OS version, network status (e.g. LAN or Internet, using a proxy or not) to try to see if there is any common factor between the failure cases."
