[9.260-8][OBSERVATION]IPv6 prefix advertisements

Hi,
while trying to track a number of IPv6 addresses appearing in the daily reports that are within my /56 range but are way outside the IPv6 DHCP server settings.

Finally tracked it to Prefix advertisments being enabled and configured, not by me and wasn't there before the up2date package was installed.

    The behaviour has not changed from 9.2 to 9.3.

    Previously in 9.2 when a dhcpv6 server was started, it would start a prefix adv. in background with the prefix. Now in 9.3 this is not done automatically any more. The admin has to start a prefix adv. himself. To take care of exisiting dhcpv6 servers, there is an upgrade rule which creates a prefix adv. and this is what is populated insde IPv6>prefix advertisements.

    I am not really sure which mode the dhclient is being started in the client and calculating the SLAAC address.

    I have to disagree with you. I have been back through the daily reports and this issue only started after I upgraded to 9.260-8.
    The UTM still running 9.207-19 uses a sixxs tunnel doesn't show this behavior.

    Before I forget, what is the use of having a DHCP server then automatically enabling Prefix Advertisments? You loose control of your address range, client mandatory settings, DNS settings etc.
