[9.260] Hotspot SMS

Hi, has someone already successfully tested the hotspot SMS authentication ? 
In my configuration appears on the hotspot page only "Failed to send SMS" and the "SMS Gateway Log" is empty. [:S] 
Do I need additional hardware for SMS authentication ? e.g. a UMTS stick or a SMS Flatrate?
