[9.200] Time table for next releases

Hi Mark, I don't remember if a date was specified, but it's been stated by Astaro/Sophos staff that 9.201 will be the initial 'release' of 9.2x.
I'm sure it will be released as soon as they have the current bugs worked out.

The only thing else I've seen is that some features are planned for 10.x but I don't know if there will be a 9.3 first.

10.x is a complete revamp of the system.  We are going away from "filtering" content and more towards adding Google Adwords to all your traffic.  In addition there will be a hardware revamp that changes all LED colors to Blue, because Blue LEDs are coolest.  Features that no one uses like IPv6 and VPN will be dropped, while the FTP Proxy is going to be rewritten and become our new big feature with full eDirectory support.

You can look at the past release schedule for 9.1x to get a feeling for the future release schedule for 9.2x.  Of course just after GA the "next" one can shift around a bit if there are major issues found or if there are no issues and we need time to finish things it may take a little longer.  That is why no commitment on date.  But a general comment that the past can predict the future.

bimmerdriver, There's some comments from AngeloC in these forums and in the feature request site about features that may make it into v10.
I don't really remember what they are, but they're subject to change anyways.

Just in case some that read Barry's post didn't realize that he was acknowledging Michael Dunn's April Fools' Day post above - Michael was joking.

I think it will be at least a year before V10 will be usable in production, so there's no reason to be in a hurry to learn about it.  V9.3 might be useable in production in six months, but it will not offer a lot of major new features as does V9.2.
