[9.200][ANSWERED] SUM 4.2 and UTM 9.2

for some reason sum is NOT cross version compatible.  if you want to use the latest SUM you HAVE to use the latest 9.x or whatever.  I just found this out the hard way..so if you are using SUM don't upgrade your utm's until sum is also available for the new utm version or you loose the functionality of SUM.

Thanks kindly William. Just tested myself and looks like that is indeed the case. No SUM configuration support for 9.2 AND 9.1 releases.

@Sven: because UTM 9.2 introduces many features (for example Web Protection which looks completely different), it is not guaranteed that the changes are properly done with SUM 4.0. This is not recommended!

Thanks "TinkerBell". In the notes for the 4.2 beta it indicates that...

"You can Up2Date from SUM 4.1 to SUM 4.2 Beta"

But I am unable to locate an u2d file in ftp://ftp.astaro.com/SUM/v4/up2date/ or in the "Beta" folder (ftp://ftp.astaro.com/SUM/v4/beta/). Only the full ISO for 4.1880-18-1.

so there is going to be an inplace upgrade to sum this time?  we won't have to nuke everything and start over?

yes we are going to release a firmware up2date from SUM 4.1 to 4.2. We're currently testing the up2date for the SUM 4.2 beta. This upgrade to the beta version is set to be released early next week.
