[9.200][ANSWERED] One time password (Two factor authentication)

Hey guys;

Think I may have found a bug, or I am just the idiot [:D], but I am currently enabling the One time password and activating it on the User Portal. When I fist log onto the user portal it presents me with the barcode for scanning. I use Google Authenticate to capture the details and everything works fine.

The problem is it refreshes back to the login screen, and when I try to log in it states that the password is incorrect, or I cannot enter due to a policy. I am 100% positive the password is correct, and I tried the code used in the authenticator as well. no luck. Only when I disable the one time password does it allow me to access the portal again.

Any ideas?

Try to log in with

instead. That should let you in.

That did the trick thanks!

However, I feel it is extremely counter intuitive. I really feel this would cause a lot of calls on the service desk with people not figuring this one out on their own. Perhaps an additional pop up screen for the OTP after the password Sophos Devs?

Hi,

I have seen it several times mentioned as this is by design as the less you give away what authentication method (i.e. OTP) is needed the better.
I personally tend to agree but I am sure not everyone does. [:)]
