Sophos Authenticator App

Hey Testers!

I'm happy to announce the first beta version of the Sophos Authenticator app for Android today.

Sophos Authenticator is the One-time Password app to use with the UTM. It's an improved version of Google Authenticator. That means you can also use it for all your accounts requiring a HOTP or TOTP based second factor. Just like the Google account itself.

This first version adds support for configurations with a timestep different to 30 seconds.

The app not in the Play store, yet. But you can download it from:

To install the .apk you have to allow installation of apps from untrusted sources on your device. You find that setting at "Settings » Security » Unknown Sources". Please make sure to disable it again after you installed the app, for security reasons.

BTW: we're also working on an iOS version. Stay tuned for updates regarding this.

    ...or by some cheap hardware  OTP tokens there are plenty available you can use, the cheapest ones I found are Feitian tokens   [FONT=Calibri]Feitian c200   [/FONT]OTP c200 | FEITIAN[FONT=Tahoma] [/FONT]

    I tried WinAuth, but it does not work. It shows me a number, but it seems not be correct. I took the Schlüssel (BASE32). and create a new Authenticator but it generates not the right code. Google Autheticator and Sophos Authenticator for IPhone work like a charm, no problems with that, but I can't find a Windows Software which does the same.

    Hmm strange works perfect for me, using WinAuth 3.0.21
    Did you check the time step is 30 seconds? And type = google  no something other by accident?

    Hi, the time could be the point. We have increased the time step so it will be easer for mobile phone users to switch between the apps. I will check that.
