[9.191][ANSWERED] Inconsistent display of interface status

Hi,

My internal Intel i217v NIC is unplugged at the moment.

Webadmin (via the EXT interface) correctly shows 'Down' for the INT NIC on the Dashboard, however the Interfaces page shows 'Up'.

9.190 was working correctly on both pages yesterday.

    Hi. You need to differentiate between "administratively up" and "link up". While the first means the Admin configured the interface to be enabled (as you do at the interface configuration), the second means the interface actually has connectivity.

    There are different interface statuses:
    - Up (enabled & link)
    - Down (disabled)
    - Error (enabled but no link)
    - Standby (designated interface that comes up when primary fails [Uplink Balancing])

    AFAIK only the Dashboard shows actual link/connectivity status!

    Hi Mario,

    Perhaps the 'Error' status should also be displayed on the Interfaces page?

    I don't normally look at the dashboard, fwiw.
    (old habits from pre-dashboard days perhaps)
