[9.186][ANSWERED] Admin UI failure?

Not sure if this is just a symptom of me leaving the admin page up for hours (days) on end, but I've just had the admin UI crash on me.

Symptoms:

  • Dozens (maybe a hundred?) "Do you want to wait 30 more seconds to finish the request?" popups
  • About 10 "Backend connection failed, please click Shift+Reload to try again" popups at the back of the stack
  • One "The request has been cancelled" popup at the top of the stack of popup errors (I clicked OK before I realised there was a deeper problem)

Now I have error 503 Service Unavailable

"The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later."

I've not restarted anything yet, I figured brighter minds than mine might want to know more (e.g. diagnostics, logs etc) before I fiddle. I don't need to make any urgent changes right now (I was going to work on my not-working-yet VPN) but I'd like to soon.

    When you restart your router, network connection or do anything so the session breaks to the admin page, that happens. Just click on the address bar and hit enter to connect again with a new session.
    Indeed, I'd expect that that would work. In this case, though, the server is sending back an error (HTTP 503 Service Unavailable).

    So even a new session is (was last night) failing.
