[9.165][BUG] Slow Outlook 2013 RPC/HTTPS access to Exchange when Web Protection is enabled

Hi,

after enabling Web Filtering (Scan HTTPS (SSL) traffic is disabled) I notice a severe performance degradation in Outlook 2013. Connecting to the mailbox on Exchange 2013 (at work) takes considerably longer and also switching between mail items takes more time than when Web Filtering is disabled.

Why does the webfilter has any influence on this, since it's a SSL connection and SSL scanning is disabled on the webfilter.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?

I can confirm that. Many Microsoft apps have problems with outgoing HTTPS inspection. Also in the official releases. You must define a lot of exeptions if HTTPS scanning is enabled.

We're using a UTM 220 (9.106-17), and we're evaluating Office 365. Prior to adding a bunch of exceptions under Web filtering, we weren't even able to connect to a Office 365 mailbox using Outlook 2010. Now we can, however, it takes about 2 minutes to login. If I bypass the UTM appliance, it takes Outlook only a few seconds to login. Any suggestions, or should I open a support case?
