[9.090][ANSWERED] Interface types

Hi,
v9.00x refers to an interface type as cable modem DHCP, this has gone from v9.1b. It seems to have been replaced with ethernet DHCP.
The question is this just a naming change to provide a more consistent naming convention or has there been some changes to the functions of this interface type?

    I'm using this interface. The name is more generic, as not everyone who has an ethernet dhcp interface is using a cable modem. In my case, I have a VDSL2 modem with Ethernet dhcp (not pppoe or pppoa). It seems to work exactly the same as the "cable modem dhcp" interface.

    Hi Ian,

    It is only a rename of the interface. No extra functions. "Cable modem", was considered an "old term" that should be standardized, as not all DHCP addresses are "Cable" for example.
