Ian, if you are referring to this post: http://www.astaro.org/beta-versions/utm-9-1-public-beta/46155-9-065-bug-ftp-proxy-not-working.html  the issue is fixed.
This seems to be another problem.

Thomas, the message "error connection interrupted" that appears in your browser, is due to a failed checkscan. When you are using the FTP Proxy feature on the UTM, first the file is downloaded on the UTM itself and after the DW is finished, this checkscan is performed. Scanning starts when you see the message:"Checking file". During this time there is a communication with the "cssd" daemon which is managing the scanning files, and chooses what scan engine to use. The FTP proxy connects to the localhost 1234 where the cssd is listening, and "asks" to check the file. Now getting back to your problem, there is a timeout of 40 s in which this scan is supposed to be finished. So if this timer is exceeded you will see in the browser exactly what you showed in the printscreen. The ftp.log will looks like this:

As a conclusion, the file is too big (900MB) and the scaner cannot finish. If you test with the 500MB iso image, this will works successfully. The 40s timeout is hardcoded and cannot be changed (at least right now). There are simple workarounds for this:
-> In FTP Proxy - Antivirus select a low amount of scanning data 
-> Or you can add an exception for this file.
