[9.075][ANSWERED] Google safe search isn't working

please provide some details
1/. OS
2/. Web browser and configuration
3/. UTM http proxy mode
4/. specific sites you tried to surf to that you expected not to be able to access.

1. Windows 7 and MAC OSX 10.8

2. Internet explorer, Chrome, and Safari

3. web filtering on with transparent mode

4. Safe search is not enforced on google.com.

5. other website that doesn't render correctly when web filtering is on - Football Recruiting & College Sports Community

if you are logged into a google/gmail account you can't enforce safe mode settings in regular transparent mode because regular transparent mode doesn't scan ssl/gmail/google enforce https/ssl when you are logged in.  If you want to enforce this you need to turn on https scanning..read the help files for the proper procedure BEFORE you enable this.  Also ssl scanning will break some things like windows updates and other sites.

William - I verified that i haven't logged in to my google account and it still hasn't enforced a safe search whereas yahoo and bing works just fine.

We are having the same exact issue. Google SafeSearch is enabled within the Web Filter but it is not blocking inappropriate Google Image searches.

Can you please run this test and report the results back in this thread.

Enable Google Safesearch.
Go to Google
Make sure you are going to HTTP and not HTTPS
Type in "p o r n" (without the spaces between letters).

You should get no results and it should print "The word "****" has been filtered from the search because Google SafeSearch is active".

Repeat the test for Image Search.  Again, you should get a message saying the word was filtered.
