[9.065][ANSWERED] MAC Address in rules

I am playing a little bit with new feature for MAC Addresses, but nothing like I expect. For example creating a host 0.0.0.0/0 with a specific mac address and use it in firewall or web protection rules

I just installed the Beta and everything goes fine with the last week backup [:)]

Welcome to beta!
For now, the MAC filtering is supported just in the definition of the firewall rule. That is also mentioned in the UTM 9.1 Public Beta Overview. It is not implemented in web filtering.
The MAC filtering only works by MAC Source. In order to use this do the following:
- Network Defintions-> MAC Address Definition-> create a new mac address (the host you want to filter)
- Create a rule in the Firewall rule . In the Advanced you can see that you can select the MAC address you created.

We had a lot of feedback regarding this feature. It is pretty limited for now but we hope that in the future will make it more flexible. Also it is mentioned there that you could open a feature request regarding this at: feature.astaro.com
