[9.065][CLOSED] VMware Tools (vmtoolsd) crashes when there are more than 16 interfaces

vmtoolsd is in process list when system boots, approximately 1 minute later in /var/log/fallback.log:

2013:02:10-16:54:19 gw [user:crit] vmsvc[3210]:  [   error] [vmsvc] MEM_ALLOC guestInfoPosix.c:292

then VMware Tools (vmtoolsd) is no longer running. Please see bug report on open-vm-tools, and related SuSe linux link:

Hrm, we fixed this bug in 9.005 so I wonder why this is still happening.
Could you please provide output of

"rpm -qa vmware-tools"?

9.005 is soft release, not GA! :-) I just tested on 9.005015 and vmtoolsd is still running after 5 minutes.

The vmware tools patch was applied in this current beta version. Our developer could not explain why you still got the "MEM_ALLOC guestInfoPosix.c:292" error. Is there something else you configured that would cause this error message to reappear?
The patch version is vmware-tools-2012.03.13.651368-3.gfd30ecc which you will see when you run "rpm -q vmware-tools".
This week the new beta version will be released, 9.070. Please try again with the new release and provide the output for:
-> rpm -q vmware-tools ( see if is the same with the one i mentioned above)
-> /etc/version
