Sophos Cloud is Sophos' new platform from which we will provide Complete Security.
It is an offering hosted by Sophos (currently in US and UK) which will offer seamless protection and enforcement for users across all devices as well as for networks.
The aim of Sophos Cloud is to reduce the complexity of managing security. We achieve this by making the products work better together instead of running as separate products.
As we add products to the platform, the focus on simplicity means we will continue to provide a single management console, a single policy model, and unified reporting.
Version 1 of Sophos Cloud will be released initially in the UK and US in the second quarter of 2013 with global launch to follow thereafter. This version will include Endpoint Protection and offer the following:
Protection:
- Advanced AV/Anti-Malware & HIPS
- Live Protection
- Safe web browsing (malicious sites)
- Device Control (for removable media)
- Windows XP, 7, 8 and Server support with Mac support to follow shortly after launch
Management:
- New cloud console
- New dashboard, reporting, search
- New user-based policy model
- Active Directory Integration (coming soon)

Before you get started, you should read this post (and as a rule anything we make 'Sticky' in this forum) all the way through - it contains lots of info and answers to questions you might have around how to participate in one of our popular open beta programs.

Disclaimer: Technology Previews are designed to give you a sneak peek at upcoming technologies. They are non-final versions of our product and should NOT be taken as a measure of the fit, finish, capability, and overall quality of the final release. If you use the preview, you could experience things that go wrong, data that gets lost, things to change, and availability to be spotty. While we don't stop you using hese versions in production, we don't recommend it if you cannot afford downtime and the usual quirks of running preview software. (Support is provided through these forums. It will not be possible to call Sophos Support hotlines for help with technology preview products.)
On the positive side we have a completely new platform for you to test, and I invite you to play with anything you like and provide feedback by posting your results here. Much will change throughout the months of the preview, and we will add even more features into the release as developers finish them. Just so nothing was forgotten, some features are listed as "Coming Soon" which means we will add them for sure as soon as they are ready. There are still some other things which we won't announce just yet, but we will for sure
update this thread with those new features as they are added.
How to join the Sophos Cloud Technology Preview
Participating is easy, just go to this site and sign up: Sophos Cloud beta signup
Once you sign up, we will review your data and place you in queue for the preview. We gradually open the preview for customers and will send out new invites every week. Throughout the preview we will update the endpoint software as well as the cloud infrastructure and management interface, but this should require no work on your part.
The technology preview does not require a license.
We look forward to your notes and comments in this forum. The forum is monitoring during office hours (9am to 4pm Central European Time), and we will do our best to respond to questions and comments. There is no required format for feedback.
