Is the Beta reversable?

Sophos UTM and Copernicus are two completely independent products, based on different kernels/engines (Sophos and Cyberoam). 
In your case, you will have to reinstall your SG device and rebuild all proxy/firewall logic from the scratch. This would be nice exercise for SOHO environments, but since you own SG650 I guess you are not fitting in that scenario...[;)].

Rollback would be to reinstall appliance again with Sophos UTM 9.3, and to restore previously saved backup.

Firstly, it's a good job I asked because Sophos sales who told me about the beta said it would just upgrade my existing 9.3 and if I didn't like it, I could just restore a backup and be back to where I was. They also said I *couldn't* have a VM of it for testing. Maybe it's a UK thing?

Anyway, I had 3 Sophos web appliances and an email appliance. The 3 1100 web appliances were for load balancing because despite the promised amount of users, they never came anywhere close before they slowed down. As a large college, we make extensive use of e-safety monitoring (and the Prevent agenda) so I was able to setup user search engine reports to report on our students searching for things like bullying, suicide, whatever and in at least 1 case, I genuinely think we have saved a life. The UTM doesn't support this feature - a pretty basic feature I'd say. You can see user searches, but you can report on more than 1 search term at once. So I can't create a list called "safeguarding" and put all my safeguarding terms in it. So from the perspective of keeping non-adult students safe from harm, it is lacking compared to the products it was meant to replace.

Also, there is no support for WCCP. We made use of that at our border so that any device that hadn't gone through a proxy would be redirected back to one. This is less of an issue because the UTM is meant to be a firewall, but it is still a feature that is lacking.

It does have extra features to be fair to it - we couldn't block bittorrent via the webappliance and our previous firewall, but I still didn't expect it to lack some basic functionality.

I was told that Copernicus had some better reporting and that more was coming in April so I wanted to have a look because as it stands at the moment, I might yet have to bring a Webappliance or two back online.

You can download setup ISO image and install it onto SG appliance (HW), previous UTM appliances or custom hardware (SW), or in Virtual environments (VM).

I've tested all scenarios except custom hardware.
