Backup cannot be restored on current device

After switching from vSphere to a fresh Hyper-V Installation i cannot restore the backup file. ("Backup cannot be restored on current device")

What are the prerequisites for restoring a backup?

I would like to know this also. I went from bare-metal to Hyper-V and I tried both the backup & Restore as well as export/import and all it did was make a mess of it so now in the process of rebuilding the whole thing, Not fun. I was reading about the export/import and from what I was reading it looked like I was supposed to get options when selecting import but never got those options, it just ran for a while and did nothing.
