[ANSWERED] Migrating From bere-metal Atom D525 to Different Hardware running in a VM?

Hi,
OK so I was wondering if I can migrate from a bere-metal install running on a Atom D525 to different hardware running in a VM without any trouble? Basically what I am asking is can I just backup my configuration and restore it to my new hardware running a Hyper-V with out any trouble or would I have to reconfigure my entire setup aka start from scratch?

    in theory it can be done but it gets dicey because you are technically moving hardware platforms.  I did it once moving from physical to vm and it just never got working correctly so i went form scratch.
