[ANSWERED] Start with Copernicus or UTM9 for home use

Hello,

I plan to add an IPS to my network and was thinking about using Sophos UTM since its free. I then came across Project Copernicus and now I am thinking about using the Beta instead of the "old" UTM 9. 
As I have no experience with either Product I thought it is better to start learning the "new thing" than to first learn the "old" one and then switch. 

My main question is now if the beta is stable enough to use it in a home environment. I am going to use only the basic features as (client-to-site-)VPN,IPS,Reverse Proxy,Firewall,VLANs in a virtualized setting. And my second concern is the upgrade from beta to release version, will this be possible and how long are beta licenses issued (the one I have now ends on 1st nov).

    Considering that you are posting in the Copernicus beta forum, the answer is to use Copernicus, then post back any issues that occur.  Be aware that it is a beta and there will be bugs and incomplete features.  If the beta continues past Nov 1, another beta license will be made available prior to that date, otherwise home use licensing will be made available when the final version is released.
